Style Sleuth: Mixed Emotions

There’s nothing that excites me more than a bold and vibrant print. So what could be better than pairing two completely different vibrant prints together?! This summer season is all about making an impact.
You may think that this trend means going to the extremes but it really doesn’t. It’s just figuring out what textures and patterns suit you best and taking them to the next level. Don’t fret if you have a penchant for neutrals and earthy tones and are unsure on how to mix it up. You can try using a navy color instead of black or opt for two different darker patterns that are still in the same color family.
If you have more of an inclination for brights, then the sky’s the limit! Grab a bright neon yellow top and pair them with a multi-colored floral print pant. Or you could try the ultimate combination of stripes and dots of all shapes and sizes. This combo has been a huge hit lately and it wouldn’t hurt to try this trend while it’s hot.
Maybe prints aren’t your thing. You can always mix different textures. Try an airy lace and tulle dress with a dark, heavy leather jacket and motorcycle boots. Or maybe try a sheer blouse with jacquard pants. Or maybe denim and chiffon… it all could work with just the right attitude!
Florals and textures, stripes and polka dots, neon and… anything else. You name it, it’s all up for grabs!
